Webelos to Scout Transition

Webelos to Scout Transition

Cub Packs and Scout Troops, it is not too early to begin planning combined events to help Webelos Scouts transition into Boy Scouts!

An important event in a Cub Scout's life is when he visits the Boy Scout Troop he will soon be a part of. Imagine the excitement of a 10-year-old seeing what happens during a Troop meeting! He will see the patrol method at work, hear discussions about monthly adventures, week-long summer camp, and so much more! Even an experienced Webelos Scout will see first-hand the fun and expanded world of being a Boy Scout.

Cub Packs, reach out to the Troop registered with your Chartered Organization. Plan several events together. Scout Troops, do the same.

Are there no Troops sponsored by your Chartered Organization? Visit your Roundtable and ask around. Your Unit Commissioner can help you identify local units.

Webelos to Scout is a Journey to Excellence (JTE) objective.  Make a plan and the youth of our community will continue learning invaluable skills Scouting offers.

Eagle Project of the Year

Congratulations to the 529 Scouts that earned the rank of Eagle in the Golden Empire Council in 2016!

The Scouts’ Eagle Scout Service Projects, requiring required a total of 95,505 service hours, greatly benefited the communities in their neighborhoods, schools, or religious institutions in a wide variety of ways.

In February, the Council Advancement Committee reviewed projects submitted for the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award. The committee is pleased to announce that two projects rose to the top based on their complexity which required higher than standard levels of coordination, collaboration, and leadership.
