We regret to announce that the NYLT 2020-1 Summer Course has been postponed until summer 2021.  State and local restrictions related to COVID-19 are such that we are unable to conduct in-person Scouting, including our summer NYLT course.  A big thank you to our youth and adult trainers that have been planning and preparing for the last 12 months.  We look forward to watching your preparations and amazing teamwork pay off when we reboot the course.

The Fall NYLT 2020-2 course is still accepting applications. Youth and adult trainers are already working to put on a great course!

Details of the 2021 NYLT courses will be announced once dates are set.  If you have questions about the NYLT program, feel free to contact the NYLT Training Team at”

Service in COVID-19

Does your unit have a ‘plan-for’ or a ‘story-about
Scouting Service during the COVID-19 pandemic?

If ‘YES’ please share it with us at: SocialMedia@GEC-BSA.Org

If ‘NOT YET’ here’s what other Scouts and units have done to inspire us all!

(USA Today)

What does the State of CA suggest about volunteering?

(Of course projects like the following should only be considered when they first meet with the approval of Parents, unit leaders and chartered partners)

From Scouting Magazine’s Bryan On Scouting:

How the Scouting community can donate gear to fight COVID-19

ISSAQUAH, WA Scouts have planned their Eagle Scout projects, recruited volunteers, raised money for supplies, and managed all of the logistics virtually to “…help each-and-every-one of the doctors get a clean mask for each patient and help them stay safe."
