Big Day of Giving

INVEST in Scouting!
It's 'BIG DAY OF GIVING' on 5-6-2021

During this past year of turmoil, it’s easy to get distracted from the BIG picture. Specifically - focusing on our future and what we can do about it. A most vital part of our future is building our youth.

Scouting is one of the best ways for youth to obtain values that builds strong individual character, strengthens families, and sustains peaceful communities.

Our values-based leadership program of Boy Scouts is more important than ever. Please consider making an investment in our Scouting youth.

Scouts of all ages continue to live by the Scout Oath and Law, to “help other people at all times” and to “Be Prepared.”

Even with the 2020 commotion - we have expanded our programming to include virtual events like: Day Camp in a Box, Camp It Out, and Merit Badge Madness. All these modules are online and currently available. Many Cub Scout, Scouts BSA and Venture Units are conducting Zoom meetings and are enjoying small activities, where allowed. All of which complies with the state & local guidelines for safe gatherings. Most importantly - Our girl troops are growing! We even have our first group of Girl Eagle Scouts receiving their awards.

Your gift will help scouting "Be Prepared" as we get through COVID and can begin to offer our outdoor programs. All donations stay right here in Northern California area and will be used to help keep our programs, camps and youth secure. Scouting needs you now -- more than ever.

Thank YOU for your heartfelt consideration and unwavering support of the Golden Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America!

Golf

The Golden Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America will be holding its 47th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament at Empire Ranch Golf Club, Folsom Ca. on June 21st, 2021. The Challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic have made many events impossible. The Golf Tournament, however, is a chance for supporters of Scouting to get together in a safe and open environment. Through the proceeds, Scouting will be able to expand its programs to serve the youth of the Northern California Region more effectively. Presently, we serve over 6,000 youth, and with the support and the outstanding participation of the community, we can reach more!

Navigating GEC-BSA history

GEC-BSA Counties?

If you visit: http://www.gec-bsa.org/districts/62262, you will find the following ‘click-able’ map of Northern CA counties linked to our seven (7) GEC-BSA districts.

Also each ‘District’ home page now has ‘new’ District Executive’ and ‘District Map’ choices to help you navigate and connect!

Platinum, Top-rated, Reviewed

GEC-BSA is investment ready....

Golden Empire Council is a ‘2020 Top-Rated’ nonprofit.  That status is tied to our previously qualified-for rating of transparency as a ‘2020 GuideStar Platinum’ nonprofit.

If we add these recognitions to our local ‘Reviewed’ status with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, and the BSA’s own Council Journey to Excellence GOLD (For 2016 thru 2019) it’s a powerful endorsement to donors that we are worthy of their investments.

So thanks again for all who helped
in getting us to here for 2021!
