Cub Resident Camp

Looking for something to do with your family? Come to Cub Resident Camp

While the world is finally starting to open up, vacation planning has still been difficult.  Many vacation spots will not be running at full capacity or travel options may be limited.  We have an answer that will be fun for the whole family.

Our Cub Scout Resident Camp program is returning this summer.  This year we are opening our Cub Scout resident camp program to both families and Packs. Space is still available for Cub Scouts and their families to experience this awesome program.  This year’s theme for resident camp is “Explorer Camp”.  Get ready for a fun time exploring the outdoors.  Families are encouraged to register even if your Pack has not made plans to attend as a Pack.  For more information contact the camping department at

The Golden Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America will be holding its 47th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament at Empire Ranch Golf Club, Folsom Ca. on June 21st, 2021. The Challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic have made many events impossible. The Golf Tournament, however, is a chance for supporters of Scouting to get together in a safe and open environment. Through the proceeds, Scouting will be able to expand its programs to serve the youth of the Northern California Region more effectively. Presently, we serve over 6,000 youth, and with the support and the outstanding participation of the community, we can reach more!

Paradise Eagle Project

Paradise Scout's Eagle Project is a Thank You to a School that Stepped up to Help After the Fires

Dallen P. was a student at Paradise Charter Middle School in Paradise, CA until November 8, 2018, when the Campfire burned the Town of Paradise to the ground. In the days following the fire, Principal Chris Reid was trying to find a way to reopen the school when they received an offer from Principal Matt Harvey of Core Butte High School in Chico, CA to come and open on their campus. They opened six classrooms and office space and use of the gym for Paradise Charter School to reopen. Both schools used the same campus until Paradise Charter School was able to move back to Paradise.

Even though Dallen is now a student in Core Butte High School he did not forget the overwhelming generosity and kindness he felt back in 2018. So, for his Eagle project he worked with both schools to build a memorial to that time. He built two steel frame benches with a synthetic wood for the seat and back adding a memorial plaque to each bench.

Platinum, Top-rated, Reviewed

GEC-BSA is investment ready....

Golden Empire Council is a ‘2020 Top-Rated’ nonprofit.  That status is tied to our previously qualified-for rating of transparency as a ‘2020 GuideStar Platinum’ nonprofit.

If we add these recognitions to our local ‘Reviewed’ status with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, and the BSA’s own Council Journey to Excellence GOLD (For 2016 thru 2019) it’s a powerful endorsement to donors that we are worthy of their investments.

So thanks again for all who helped
in getting us to here for 2021!
