Merit Badges and More

Calling All Merit Badge Counselors
Our Dean of Merit Badges is asking all of you who are planning to teach merit badges to fill out a new Adult Application to submit. Please send it to Karen Bredahl.
PLEASE DELIVER THIS FORM TO KAREN BREDAHL; DO NOT SEND IT TO COUNCIL!!!
Please give to me at Monthly Roundtable or you may scan and send it also.
You are asked to fill out this form regardless of your current registration as this information goes into a separate database. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your help. If you choose to not do so, you are only hurting the boys whom you would like to help. Thank you.
The council Advancement Committee has reminded us that a single Merit Badge Counselor can only sign up for 8 merit badges. This has been a policy for quite some time but needs to be re-stated every once in a while.
Merit Badges @ Roundtable for 2010
Tentative schedule for 2010, changes coming as instructors are assigned. Check back frequently. These classes require willing adults to put them on so if you want this program to continue, you, as adults, need to volunteer. We only ask for one per year. Please call or email Jim Seger (530.644.4650, seg29@me.com) to volunteer.
Scout notes for classes
1. You should be in uniform and have a signed "Blue Card" before starting the merit badge. (The counselor has the right to refuse to allow you to participate in the class without a blue card and/or uniform)
2. Contact the counselor and tell him/her you are coming prior to RT (at least a week, please).
3. Do any difficult or long term requirements before the class.
4. You must meet with the counselor on an individual basis to pass off the merit badge. No group passings.

Merit Badge Counselor List Access
The 2009 Merit Badge Counselor list is now available.
Access to the District Merit Badge Counselor (MBC) List for 2010 is restricted to Scouters working with unit members that need that kind of personal information. Please contact the following individuals to request the MBC list directoy: Karen Bredahl, District MBC Coordinator: karen.bredahl@sbcglobal.net Jim Seger, District Roundtable Commissioner: seg29@me.com Brian Casper, District Executive: bcasper@gecbsa.org Please ask for the new list. We no longer provide hard copies of the District MBC list. If you know of any individuals on the list that are no longer functioning, please let us know. If you see any errors, that info needs to be sent to us immediately. We periodically have Merit Badge Counselor Training sessions at Roundtable two times a year. Keep an eye on the RT schedule to see when this is offered next. The list is dynamic and changes on a regular basis. ask for a new one when your current one is over a year old. We do not publish it's availablility as it is just always available in the current iteration. Jim Seger RTC
