Calling All Merit Badge Counselors
Our Dean of Merit Badges is asking all of you who are planning to teach merit badges to fill out a new Adult Application to submit. Please send it to Karen Bredahl.
PLEASE DELIVER THIS FORM TO KAREN BREDAHL; DO NOT SEND IT TO COUNCIL!!!
Please give to me at Monthly Roundtable or you may scan and send it also.
You are asked to fill out this form regardless of your current registration as this information goes into a separate database. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your help. If you choose to not do so, you are only hurting the boys whom you would like to help. Thank you.
The council Advancement Committee has reminded us that a single Merit Badge Counselor can only sign up for 8 merit badges. This has been a policy for quite some time but needs to be re-stated every once in a while.
Merit Badges @ Roundtable for 2008
Tentative schedule for 2008, changes coming as instructors are assigned. Check back frequently.
Notes for classes
1. You should be in uniform and have a signed "Blue Card" before starting the merit badge. (The counselor has the right to refuse to allow you to participate in the class without a blue card or uniform)
2. Contact the counselor and tell him/her you are coming prior to RT (at least a week).
3. Do any difficult or long term requirements before the class.
4. You must meet with the counselor on an individual basis to pass off the merit badge. No group passings.
Merit Badge Counselors: we need you to sign up for one of the classes to be taught. Merit Badge classes will be cancelled if no instructor volunteers. Please consider teaching one of the classes at one of the Roundtables. One a year is all we ask....really...

Merit Badge Counselor list access
The 2008 Merit Badge Counselor list is available. A new list for 2009 is now available.
Access to the District Merit Badge Counselor (MBC) List for 2008/2009 is restricted to Scouters working with unit members that need that kind of personal information. Please contact the following individuals to request the MBC list directoy: Karen Bredahl, Dist MBC Coordinator: karen.bredahl@sbcglobal.net District Executive: still waiting on a new one.... Jim Seger, Dist Roundtable Commissioner: jaseg07@sbcglobal.net Karen has put together a new list in a different format. Please ask for the new list. We no longer put out hard copies of the District list. We periodically have Merit Badge Counselor Training sessions at Roundstable. Keep an eye on the RT schedule to see when this is offered next. The schedule for 2009 should be out soon. Jim Seger
