The Gold Nugget Award

(Unit Scouter of the Year Award)

Each year every unit has the privilege of honoring a Scouter in their midst that has gone the extra mile in service to their unit. In Gold Country, we call this the Gold Nugget Award, and it comes with a Certificate and a Gold Nugget Neckerchief Slide.  The award is given at the District Dinner, held this year on January 21st, 2011.

Unit Leader Award of Merit

(Replaces the old Scoutmaster Award of Merit)

The Unit Leader Award of Merit replaces the Scoutmaster, Varsity Team Coach, and Venturing Crew Advisor award of merit programs. This new recognition has revised requirements, and Cubmasters are also eligible for this recognition.This award does NOT REPLACE the previous white on tan (position) Award of Merit emblem -- the new award has different requirements (some similiar -- others changed!)

This award is not a self-nominating one. The candidate must be nominated by the Committee and the Scouts of his/her unit.
