I improved the look of all the woodwork in 20 rooms with Old English to take away scratches and give the wook a shine. Filler pens were used to make bad scratches less noticable. Total people involved = 25, total hours = 88.

Olympus Junior High School, 2625 La Croix Drive, Roseville
I built 12 lecture podiums to hold laptops that connected to the new interactive white-board. The podiums were 4 ft. tall and had storage for textbooks or document cameras on the shelf. The school LOGO was also painted on the front. Total people involved = 23, total hours = 166.

I constructed and erected a large kiosk on the side of the trail. It displays conservation materials to educate the public and stands 12' tall and 8' wide - made of stained redwood. Total people involved = 21, total hours = 220.

Lomis Basin Charter School, 5438 Laird Rd., Loomis.
I painted the lines for games onto the asphalt of the play area. 1. Wall Ball Court, 2. Wall Ball, 3. Four Square Court, and 4. Hop-scotch. Each game area was 10 to 12 feet square. Total people involved = 24, total hours = 124.

I refurbished two Play Sheds (8' x 10'). I installed new siding and trim, fixed the roofing and painted them. Now these are safe to play house in. Total people involved = 29, total hours = 287.

Oakhills School, 9233 Twin Schools Road, Granite Bay.
I made 12 Traffic Signs 3' tall for kindergarten kids to use with tricycles on the playground to understand their meaning. The teachers can use them to teach the rules of the road so they will be safer. Total people involved = 8, total hours = 115.

Loomis Basin Charter School, 5438 Laird Rd., Loomis.
I painted the US map (27' x 16') and an 8' x 8' chess board on asphalt playing ground. The states aren't labeled so children can quiz themselves on state names and capitals. The chess board is for use with large chess pieces. Total people involved = 28, total hours = 120.

I made 18 wood shelving units with 5 shelves (6' tall x 3' wide) to fill both sides of a 40' cargo unit, making it possible to store and organize toys and games. Total people involved = 15, total hours = 110.

I assembled a package kit of parts into a play set wooden boat 15' long by 9' wide. This was built on an existing playground on a bark surface. Total people involved = 18, total hours = 121.

Cirby Elementary School, 814 Darling Way, Roseville.
I built 2 garden boxes (8' x 4') and filled them with garden soil. The top of the box walls were capped with Trex boards to prevent children from getting splinters. The boxes were also stained for looks and durability. Total people involved = 28, total hours = 155.

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 6365 Douglas Blvd., Granite Bay.
I built a 8' x 3.5' paving bloocks walkway to replace small bricks on grass. I also built a sprinkler box 69" long by 22" wide and 30" high to cover the exposed pipes and valves. Total people involved = 10, total hours = 199.

American Red Cross, 1151 Rand Way, Roseville.
I prepared 500 First Aid Kits. Each kit was in a 5" x 8" freezer zip lock bag and contained: A) 1 pair of medical gloves, B) 3 triple anti-bacterial ointment, C) 5 band aids, D) 1 large gauze pad. Total people involved = 12, total hours = 175.

Loomis Basin Horseman's Association, off Barton Rd, after Granite Hills Gated Comm. & before Santa Juanita Dr., Loomis.
On Linda Creek Trail, I built ditch crossings (48' & 32' long) made of pipe, rock folded in landscape fabric, 3" deep decomposed granite and lodge poles. During the winter the trail was impassable but now is useful. Total people involved = 15, total hours = 212.

Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 615 Vine Avenue, Roseville.
I transformed a boring lawn area into an interesting and attractive area by inserting a "Stepping Stone Rosary". Sod was cut out in the right places, weed barrier cloth installed and bender boards were installed. Then 77 stepping stones were laid into the path and 3 cu yd of decomposed granite was spread out around the stones. I also built a bench for the area and planted shrubs, flowers and a tree. Total people involved = 43, total hours = 278.

The Gathering Inn, Roseville.
I divided a 20' x 20' room by building a standard inside wall. That created a laundry room 20' x 7' that is separated from other activities. The installed wall had a regular opening with a door that could be closed and an open window (48" x 34"). Total people involved = 30, total hours = 140.

Spenceville Wildlife Recreation Area, Wheatland, CA.
I removed about 150' of fallen wire and about 20 fence posts. Then we hiked about 1/4 mile up the trail and removed another 350' of wire and 15 fence posts. The wire coiled and piled into 10 large piles of wire and posts. Now the area is cleaner and safer for grazing. Total people involved = 16, total hours = 132.

Vencil Brown School, 250 Trestle Dr., Roseville.
I raised over $800 to pay for the following. I replaced an old sandbox 12' x 15' x 1'. The sand had to be moved, then remove the old lumber and install the new sandbox and stained the wood and placed 6.6 cubic yds of sand in it. I also installed a pool cover to keep in the mositure and keep the animals out. Total people involved = 11, total hours = 198.

I made two 10' long & 33" tall bike racks from wood and sealed them. I also made a protective roof 8' long x 2' wide for a small compressor used to fill bike tires. Total people involved = 25, total hours = 142.

Maria Montessori Charter School, 1850 Wildcat Blvd., Rocklin.
I constructed two 8' x 4' bridges with handrails to span drainage ditches and allow access to areas of the garden. They were made of long lasting TREX Decking and pressure treated lumber. Total people involved = 48, total hours = 90.

I built a Rebound Wall for tennis and other games. It was 20' wide and 8' tall with a sturdy back frame for support. Total people involved = 14, total hours = 170.

John Adams Academy, One Sierra Gateway, Roseville.
I assembled over 200 large commercial tables and 20 audio/visual carts then stacked them and covered them with a tarp. I also installed vinyl signs with quotes from our founding fathers in each classroom. Total people involved = 98, total hours = 338.

I built 80 cat scratching posts and also 30 cat adoption bags which included a picture frame, toys and treats. Total people involved = 29, total hours = 170.

Roseville Veterans Memorial Hall, 110 Park Drive, Roseville.
I built a monument-style sign for the Veterans. I used the idea of the old sign and incorporated some of it into a big (8' high, 16' long, 4' thick) rebar reinforced structure on a concrete footing. It is built around a strong wood frame protected by a waterproof membrane and a layer of stucco and brick veneer. Total people involved = 28, total hours = 511.

Sierra Elementary School, 6811 Camborne Way, Rocklin.
I installed 56 metal flag supports for 7' x 15" banners all across the campus to advertise anything necessary. I then installed 40 banners for the International Baccalaureate Program on those brackets. Total people involved = 10, total hours = 86.

John Adams Academy, 1 Sierragate Plaza Roseville.
I collected 1,000 books, 1/2 went into the library and 1/2 went into classrooms. In the library I cataloged and sorted the books by author and shelved them in the empty bookshelves. These are the first books to be cataloged for the new library. Total people involved = 55, total hours = 198.

Trout Unlimited Sac-Sierra Chapter, Folsom Nature Trail S. of Folsom Kids Play Park.
I cut back the common Himalayan Blackberry 5'-8' feet from 200 yards of the trail on either side. I also cleared Star Thistle (an invasive species) from an area the size of a football field to allow native grasses and shrubs to grow. The brush cleared became a pile 6' high and stretched for 20 feet. Total people involved = 39, total hours = 223.

Roseville Elks Lodge # 2248, 3000 Brady Lane, Roseville.
I collected 20 worn American Flags to retire and gave donors a new flag. I held a car wash and collected $363 to pay for the new flags. I also sent letters to local schools telling my story and encouraging respect for the flag with a video I made and posted on YouTube. A retirement ceremony was held to retire all collected flags. Total people involved = 27, total hours = 119.

Martha Riley Community Library, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville.
I trained 8 seniors for 5 days, 2 hours each day. Each senior had their own personal assistant and the "Curriculum" which they could keep. Total people involved = 28, total hours = 209.

Placer Co. SPCA, 150 Corporation Yard, Roseville.
I designed and built 2 rolling shelving units, each with 2 rolling bins that fit under the bottom of 3 shelves. The units were 7' long and 5' high with each rolling bin 12" high and 3' long. Laminate-coated, pre-finished wood was used so the result would be much stronger, last longer and be easier to maintain. Total people involved = 13, total hours = 136.

Trout Unlimited Sac-Sierra Chapter, Auburn River.
I posted 7 signs (12" x 18" on posts) to inform people what to do to prevent spread of the New Zealand Mud Snail. We hiked at least 5 miles with cement and equipment to set the posts near the river at 6 sites which were at Lake Clementine, Ponderosa Bridge, Yankee Jim Bridge, and Iowa Road Bridge. Total people involved = 18, total hours = 175.

Field Haven Feline Rescue, 2754 Ironwood Lane, Lincoln.
I laid 104' cement curb around a cleaned out area and filled with a sand base. Then a beautiful brick patio 22' x 30' was laid on the sand. People who make donations can have ingraved bricks with their animal's name on it. Total people involved = 16, total hours = 183.

I painted an open sided roofed structure 61' x 32'. That included the underside of the roof as well as the posts and facia. Total people involved = 36, total hours = 141.

Roseville City Cemetery, 421 Berry Street, Roseville.
I reconstructed a children's grave area. Sod was removed, decomposed granite was laid, headstones were replaced neatly and a decorative stone border was added to a 22' x 16' area that contained 35 graves. Total people involved = 34, total hours = 183.

Union Cemetery, 9400 Watt Ave., Roseville.
I power-washed and painted a 40' cargo container used for storage. I also washed and cleaned 206 headstones, removed an old fence and built a privacy fence, and lastly we put mosquito polymer in flower cups. Total people involved = 30, total hours = 105.

Project Linus, 6808 Somerville Way, Fair Oaks.
I made 122 fleece blankets. 52 were sewn on the edges and were for infants. 70 blankets had the edges cut and tied. The sizes varied for use by toddlers and teenagers. Total people involved = ?, total hours = 384.

North Roseville Recreation Education & Creativity (R.E.C.) Center, 313 High St., Roseville.
I built a 6' x 8' storage shed mounted on 4'' x 6'' skids for easy relocation. Most materials used came from various donations using what was left over from other construction projects from businesses and individuals. The shed will be used to store bikes, tools and other items that have been stolen in the past. Total people involved = 25, total hours = 176.

I built 3 raised bed planter boxes. They measured 2' high, 8' long and 3' wide and painted with redwood stain. Then they were filled with planters mix soil. I also made a 3' wide bark pathway for easy access. Total people involved = 17, total hours = 140.

STAR Eco Station, 4465 Granite Drive, Rocklin. (Env. Sci. Museum & Exotic Wildlife Rescue).
I built 3 display cases (8' tall, with shelves, on wheels) to showcase for visitors the information and materials about endangered species , poaching and illegal hunting. Total people involved = 25, total hours = 167.

Cavitt Jr. High School, 7200 Fuller Drive, Granite Bay.
"Periodic Table"... I built a "hand crafted" steel picnic table with benches. The top surfaces were covered with 140 tiles (6" x 6"). On each tile I placed an element symbol and atomic # before it was glazed. I cleaned the area and then set the table in 3' holes full of concrete. Total people involved = 30, total hours = 258.

I designed and built a 2' high retaining wall 55' long partially around two sheds to keep the soil and gravel used to level the site from shifting. Total people involved = 24, total hours = 108.

Greenhills Elementary School, 8200 Greenhills Way, Granite Bay.
I built and installed 18 shelves with hooks below for hanging coats and packs outside the classrooms. The hooks were spaced only 1 foot apart so there are many available to the students. This also created space in the classrooms. The boards were painted to match the building trim. Total people involved = 37, total hours = 143.

I planted 20 shrubs and three15-gal Redwood trees. Over 100' of irrigation line was installed. I also covered the area with 10 cu yd of bark for mulch and appearances. Total people involved = 17, total hours = 108.

I built an large entertainment center (14' x 5.5') out of old recycled fence wood. This filled a wall and housed 3 large TVs, and an audio/video control center. I also constructed out of the old wood a coffee table and a chess table with inlaid chess design. Total people involved = 16, total hours = 197.

I created a river rock path from the church to the grove where special events occur. The trail is 100' long by 4' wide and includes 5 steps bordered by wood. Total people involved = 22, total hours = 200.

I made a 16' x 24' shade structure for nursery plants used by 7th graders in their science curriculum. The structure includes work tables where the students tent to their plants and can stay in the shade. Total people involved = 19, total hours = 127.

Warren T. Eich Middle School, 1509 Sierra Gardens Dr., Roseville.
I made 3 "Lost & Found" open front boxes (5' x 4' x 2'). Hooks were added to the tall back to enable coats to be hung up. I also renovated 750 sq ft garden area and added two 15 gal Oleander plants and six 1 gal plants. I then repainted the School Sign with school colors. Total people involved = 35, total hours = 184.

I pruned out old paper records, then reorganized the archives onto the several new shelves that I built to fit the area and their storage needs and the shelves they had. The floor needed repairs to make the shelves stable. I also repaired and painted walls. Total people involved = 14, total hours = 259.

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 6201 Spruce Ave., Sacramento.
I built a 880 sq ft brick patio using Holland Pavers. Trees were in the middle of the patio and I built circular retaining walls around them and a garden. To offset the $5000.00 needed for this job I raised $2000.00 in donations and with a car wash. Total people involved = 66, total hours = 830.

Twin Lakes Elementary School, 5515 Main Av., Orangeville.
I obtained the money from the PTA, parents and my resources. I created 10 games for the students built with wood so they will last a long time. Food Fight, Ring Toss, Bowling, Hole in One, Three Strikes, Touch Down, Wheel of Doom, Pin the Tail on the Cougar, Coin Toss, and Beat the Principal (Soccer). Total people involved = 13, total hours = 141.

First Presbyterian Church, 515 Sunrise Avenue, Roseville.
I built a media center to replace the old one. It is an 8' x 8' raised platform to hold the operators in the corner of the room and cabinets and shelves are built on this platform to hold all the sound system and computer equipment. Total people involved = 15, total hours = 121.

I made 4 benches and 4 planter boxes (benches =5' long, planters each = 1 cu ft soil space). They were made with wood and stained. Planters were filled with soil and planted with flowers. The 4th and 5th grades will enjoy these additions to their environment. Total people involved = 26, total hours = 208.

Blue Star Moms, 110 Park Drive, Roseville.
I prepared 66 care packages to be sent to soldiers over-seas by Blue Star Moms organization. Inside were food, hygiene products, entertainment items and a handwritten letter of encouragement from a Boy Scout to a soldier. I raised the necessary $3,008.00 with fundraisers (recycle items & bottles) and cash donations. Total people involved = 18, total hours = 165.

St. Clare Catholic Church, 1950 Junction Blvd., Roseville.
I enlarged a 187' path from width of 3' to 4' to make it ADA compliant. A composite border was installed along the sides to contain the path materials. I also improved the 1500 sq ft area around the path with 5 cu yds bark mulch and 250 succulent plants. Total people involved = 29, total hours = 234.

North Roseville R.E.C., 313 High Street, Roseville.
I Cleaned the garden area and refurbished planter boxes and the irrigation system fixed. Made a gate for easy access for the delivery of goods to the food bank. Covered the bottom of the 18' library trailer for safety and appearances. Two benches were added along the basketball courts. A larger hot water heater was also obtained for future use. Total people involved = 24, total hours = 136.

Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd.
I made and donated 50 "no-sew" fleece blankets with a large variety of designs and colors. Each patient receives a blanket to use and take home when discharged. All materials were paid for with the $500 proceeds of car washes I organized. Total people involved = 31, total hours = 285.

The Gathering Inn, 201 Berkeley Ave., Roseville.
I built a 70' planter box and filled it with crushed rock, a drain and fabric, ready for the Inn to finish filling and planting. It created a barrier to flooding and the edge of the parking lot next to the walkway. The parking lot had been raised also to prevent flooding and I worked with the contractor in planning to guarantee success. Total people involved = 24, total hours = 133.

Granite Bay High School, 1 Grizzly Way, Granite Bay.
In the GBHS Emerald Brigade's band room, there were hundreds of old trophies. I took down all the trophies that were on the shelf that lined the top of the band room. I sorted them by year and cleaned and put back those less than 6 years old. The older ones I removed the plaques to mount on specially made display boards and recycled the old trophy parts to organizations who could use them. I also painted the percussion room and built stand holders for the drum stands. Total people involved = 37, total hours = 191.

I made 300 Grammophones and 10 wood racks to hold them all for easy and attractive storage where they can be quickly inventoried. These are used in classes for speech and hearing impaired students. $100 of donations paid for all the materials. Total people involved = 20, total hours = 179.

FieldHaven Feline Rescue, 2754 Ironwood Lane, Lincoln.
I built 2 cat scratch posts, a bench and 2 shelves for each of 8 new outside visiting areas. There are 4 rooms 8' x 80" and 4 rooms 8' x 32" with enough room for potential owners to sit down and visit. Total people involved = 16, total hours = 154.

I collected over a dozen used laptop computers to be donated to needy families. The laptops had to be wiped of information and operating systems and software installed to make them useful. The hardware also had to be investigated to verify everything was ok. Total people involved = 13, total hours = 108 .

I made 5 trail signs (carved vinyl covering aluminum backing) which included the mileage to Fairy Falls. Four required aluminum posts to be installed in concrete that hat to be carried in by foot up to 1.5 mi. Total people involved = 12, total hours = 106.

I cleaned up the nature trail. I removed four 40 yd dumpsters of junk including 16 tons of concrete, old trees, washers, dryers, freezers and air conditioners . Total people involved = 56, total hours = 235.

Three complicated cat trees were built for the display room and many cats to play on at the same time. They were 6' high, 4' wide and 2' deep with multiple levels, sleeping and perching and batting-toy areas. All materials were paid for by proceeds from a yard sale selling stuff people donated for this purpose. Total people involved = 21, total hours = 147.

I landscaped near the Art Wing more than 1/3 acre (part shown here), fixing many and replacing 10 sprinklers. I also built a 20' long 2-tiered retaining wall. Total people involved = 45, total hours = 165.

I demolished (one built with plywood) and rebuilt (with 2" x 12" doug fir) a Wall Ball Wall 18' wide by 8.5' tall. I also primed and painted everything. Total people involved = 31, total hours = 197.

I installed 145 coat hooks (12" apart) and support boards of various lengths around the school and also installed a 12" shelf above all boards for lunch boxes. The boards were painted to match the rest of the trim and the students for the first time didn't have wet coats and backpacks during the winter because of them lying on wet sidewalks, even though they were under the sidewalk roofs.
