The goal of this position is to increase awareness within the local community (non-scouters) about Boy Scouts of America's contribution back to the Roseville and Granite Bay area.
By increasing community awareness of Scouting, the end result will hopefully be that the interest, enrollment, and participation in Scouting will also increase. Many troops already have a Public Relations committee position, so it is not my intent to step on any toes, or get involved where not needed. But for the smaller troops, and most typically Cub Scout Packs, a contact for PR assistance would be helpful. And that is where this position come in...

- Monthly email (you are reading it) reminder for newsworthy Scout information

- Take advantage of newsworthy Scouting activities by inviting the press
- Write a press release
a. taking photos
b. jot down quotes from Scouts
c. write an article -

- Supporting our community (Elderly home visits, charitable collections...)
