Clay Busters 2007

Thanks to everyone who helped make the first annual Clay Buster

a success.

See you July 26, 2008! (New Date!)

Welcome to Northern Rivers District Clay Busters! web page.

Clay Busters! is a Sporting Clays style shotgun fun-shoot.  Participants will shoot from six or more different stands at a total of 50 clay targets.  We will be using the Lewis Class scoring system so everyone will have a chance to win a medal.

This is not a scouting event and is open to the public.  All ages, boys, girls, men, and women, are welcome, but we anticipate that 90% of the shooters will be adults.  Proceeds will go to the Golden Empire Council of the Boys Scouts of America and will benefit scouting in Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity counties as well as throughout the north valley.

In addition to the clay targets, participants will receive a cap, provided by Sage Country Camo, and lunch, provided by Outback Steakhouse of Redding.  There will also be Annie Oakley shoots for raffle tickets and a "Mallard Shoot" for a Remington SPR310 over-under shotgun.

Annie Oakley:  All shooters step up to the line behind a clay target thrower.  The target is called for and the first shooter in line fires.  If he misses the next shooter fires, and so on until either the target is broken or it lands intact.  If the target is broken, each shooter that missed steps off the line.  This continues until only one shooter remains.  The winner will receive 25 free raffle tickets.

Mallard Shoot: Three targets will be thrown, a single followed by a pair.  If all three are broken the shooter will receive one special raffle ticket.  The winner of this raffle will receive the Remington SPR 310 shotgun. (State and Federal laws will be observed.)  You may go back as many times as you wish.

Additional lunch tickets will be available so bring the whole family.
