| The Spring National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is now online at http://www.gec-bsa.org/webpay/event. This (2) two weekend Spring NYLT Course will be held on May 4-6 and May 18-20, 2012. Open to Boy Scouts/Varsity Scouts and Co-Ed Venturer Scouts, the course centers around the concepts of what a Leader must BE, what a Leader must KNOW, and what a Leader must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. |
| Council - Camp Card 2012 |

 The 2012 Camp Card initiative is designed to help Scouts earn their way to a Camp experience. Scouts participating in this program will earn 50 percent commission, $2.50 for each $5.00 Camp Card they sell. Cards will be distributed at Roundtables and the Scout office as early as March 1st. The sale will end on May 25th. The Sale is RISK FREE, simply return unsold Cards.

| The Golden Empire Council will hold The 5th Annual Metro Shooting Clay Event April 28th, 2012 at the Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve,2951 Curran Rd, in Ion Ca. Registration and Breakfest begin at 7:30 AM. There will be prizes for the best team score based on 100 targets per shooter in a 5 Person Squad. There wil be silent and live actions with great sporting gear including guns and ammo. |

 The Venturing Officers Association is hosting its first annual semi-formal dinner dance for all registered Venturers throughout Northern California! We invite you to come and enjoy food, music, and dancing! All Venturers are invited. Please register online. $40 for Venturers and $35 for parents and family. Please note dress code is strictly enforced. |

| The council's office hours have changed to Monday thru Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This change will improve our level of service and will benefit those who were seeking assistance prior to our previous opening hour and those who have had difficulty getting into the office before the prior closing time. |
