District Training

Most of the district training courses have flyers available at the council office and on the council web site. They are also posted on the board outside the Scout Store. If you are interested in participating please take heed of the registration deadline. This is important so that the necessary training material is present.

Every fall GEC Commissioners gather for training usually at Yuba Community College in Marysville. The courses are designed to help Commissioners and Exploring Service Team Members better service their units. The courses will also help Roundtable Commissioners and their staff to provide exciting roundtables.

Distinguished Commissioner awards and the Doctor of Commissioner Service degrees are also presented. See the ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY of Doctoral Theses and Postgraduate Papers to see the many problems that have been solved and who solved those problems.

Train-the-Trainer - Conference for adult Scout leaders. All new trainers need to attend this conference and those who will be serving on the Dist/Council training teams or roundtable staffs must have had this training within the past five years to retain their Certified Trainer status. This BSA conference is also encouraged for Scouters who lead pack, troop, teams and crews. Unit leaders will receive instruction in how to provide better training for their boys and adults at the unit level (i.e. Fast Start, Youth Protection, Troop Leader Training, Troop Committee Challenge and Unit Leadership Enhancements, etc.
