Cracker Barrel Page

This page serves as an activity resource for scouters. Just as folks gathered around the cracker barrel in country stores and lounged for informal conversation and shared experiences and information over the old "cracker barrel", thiscracker barrel page hopes to share information about where to get things and where to go in the Trailblazer area. Individual pages are set up to share as much information as we can. If you have information on hikes, trails, places, patches that you are willing to share, or errors and changes to these pages, please notify the webmaster. Current pages and content are:

  • Backpacking and Patches - this page has information on contacts on some backpacking areas and patches you can earn.


  • Hiking and Patches - This page has information on hikes, some day hike and some 50 milers, and the patches you can earn.


  • Places to Visit - a list of over 100 places and contacts in the local area that can be iused for day outings


  • Summer Camps - Information and contacts for Golden Empire Council summer camps,and contacts for other BSA summer camps in Northern California.

Webmaster Patch (Unofficial)
This is one of two UNOFFICIAL internet related patches that are available. This one is designed for the Scout or Scouter that maintains a unit's web site. We are attempting to get the unit webmaster approved by Golden Empire Council as a position in our units, but until it is approved, it can be worn over the right pocket as a "temporary" patch.

Internet Scout Patch(Unofficial) : This is an UNOFFICIAL patch sponsored by the U.S. Scouting Service Project. It is designed to encourage Scouts and Scouters to learn about the Internet and Internet safety. It may be worn as a temporary patch on the Scout Uniform. It is up to individual Scout Leaders to insure that the requirements have been met. It may also be worn on patch vests or jackets.
