All participants must have training before participating on the rifle, shotgun, pistol for adults and Venturer's, and archery ranges. GEC requires each person to attend a 30-minute briefing for each of these disciplines.

If you already have your white cards completed for each of the disciplines, bring it with you for the instructors to see at their ranges.

If your scout has their archery, rifle, or shotgun merit badges then they don’t need to attend these classes, just bring their blue cards/proof of completion with them on Friday September 13 and we will sign off a white training card for them at check-in.

If  you don't have all four disciplines (i.e. archery, shotgun, rifle, and pistol for Venture Scouts) signed off on your white card (bring it with you to the training class). you will need to attend the entire class, as we can’t tell you what time a specific discipline will be taught during the class (except the pistol will be taught last, so those who can’t take the class will be able to leave) The review will be good for you.

30 minute trainings to obtain your white card (adults and youth)  will be held on Aug 1and Aug 2at the Galt Police Department 455 Industrial Drive, Galt CA.

Pick one class on either weekend and arrive 15 minutes earlier to check in. Each class covers, rifle, shotgun, archery and pistols for Venturing and Sea Scouts only. (pistol will be done the last ½ hr) You only attend one class to obtain your white card. No online registration, just show up.

August 1Class 1   9:00-11:00AM or Class 2   11:30AM-1:30PM

August 2Class 1   9:00—11:00AM  or Class 2   11:30AM-1:30PM

We are working on getting instructors in the Chico and Redding area to put on the same trainings and will let you know when those dates have been arranged.
