This one-and-a half day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders/adults interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands on practical. Scouts BSA Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience. Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. 

When: October 12-13, 2019  (Saturday & Sunday)

Where: McFarland Living History Ranch 8899 Orr Road, Galt CA. 95632

Note: Saturday Check-In and tent setup 7:30-8:00AM

  ****Eat breakfast prior to arriving****     Check-Out 12:00 PM on Sunday October 13.

 Program starts at 8:30AM on Saturday morning   

Price: $25.00  online registration only-no walk-in's.  

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This training is required for leaders/adults interested in adding a camping componet to their pack activities.

Required online training  component in advance: Go to my.scouting.org, login and go to Baloo Prerequisite Trainingv2 and complete the 4 items. Bring your completion certificate with you to registration.          

You should come prepared to camp out on Saturday night and eat breakfast before you arrive. Saturday lunch, dinner, evening cracker barrel (cracker barrel is a light snack)  and Sunday breakfast will be provided. 

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING? All participants are required to bring a completed                   Meddical Form AB  https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/ahmr/

A uniform (if you have one), sleeping bag, tent, ground cloth, pocket knife, compass,  personal gear and first aid kit, flashlight, folding chair, insect repellent, water bottle, personal eating utensils, and a cooler with water/soft drinks. Check weather conditions for appropriate clothing as we will have classes outside.
