2nd Annual Shotgun Team Competition Sponsored by the GEC Venturing Officers' Association
All Venturing, Scouts BSA, and Sea Scouting youth and adults are invited to form a team of 5 shooters and compete for the high score and bragging rights for the year. The competition will be held on March 19th, 2022 at the Alta Mesa Gun Club, 10100 Reigl Road, Wilton CA.
Register your team of 5 shooters and compete to have your unit's team name on the plaque located in the council office. There will be award plaques for all shooters on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams this year, along with an award plaque for the Scout who scores the highest points in the final Top Shot competition. Last year's winner Zachary Johnson shot 24 out of 25 clays.
Registration includes all program materials and equipment, range fees, and a delicious bbq lunch. We will also have other drawings with cool swag prizes happening throughout the day. All personal shotguns will be allowed only after they have been inspected by the NRA Instructor in charge of inspections for the event. All personal shotguns usage must also include its own personal ammo. Shells must be size 7-1/2 lead/6 steel shot or smaller. Loads must be 1-1/8oz or less and 2-3/4” or shorter for 12 and 20 gauge and 3” or shorter for all others. The velocity of shells should be no more than 1200. THE OWNER OF THE SHOTGUN MUST BE PRESENT.

After your registration is complete, please email all of the Scouts' names on your team to: Sarah at voagec@gmail.com w/ cc to Vickie at vickieashworth@gmail.com.
All participants will need a GEC White Training Card that shows they have taken a 30-minute shotgun safety training. For those who do not already have a training card, there will be a training after the safety briefing that morning. For those who already have a training card, please bring it with you or you will need to retake the class.
