Beading System

Amangi Nacha Lodge adopted the Beading system from Tehema Lodge’s tradition as part of it's participation recognition awards system.

When a member is called-out, he is given a necklace with a red crow bead. Upon completion of the Ordeal Ceremony, he will be presented with his first set of beads. This set is to include a 1 1/2-inch bone hairpipe surrounded by two red crow beads including the first red bead from the call-out. Members will be presented a different colored bead each time that they participate in a Lodge or Chapter activity. When a member has completed the Brotherhood ceremony, he will be presented two additional hairpipes and two more red crow beads to be added. If one is selected and successfully completes the Vigil Honor, he will be presented the fourth and final hairpipe. This necklace may be worn with your uniform at Order of the Arrow functions or with your regalia. Adult members, too, may participate in this program.

The beading system is done on the honor system. It is the responsibility of the individual to request those beads that are due to him and be prepared to justify the request. Beads will be available at most of the Lodge or Chapter functions from the officers or Advisors.
