HAT Instructors work with the students on a number of topics during the outdoor practical session, from Water Treatment to...

...field evacuation, and much more!

Map & compass is an important part of the BBA Seminar.

You'll aquire a practical working knowledge that can be immediately applied to your Unit's outings and training.

HAT Instructors perform realistic field pack checks to emphasize what's important and what's not. You can apply these same criteria and checks lists in your Unit.

Students camp for 2 nights during the Outdoor Practical, backpacking in to the 2nd night's camp.

The hike in isn't too demanding, though the students do experience varying terrain and are expected to do their own cooking with LNT practices!

HAT instructors offer session on bear bags, stream crossing, pratical map & compass, and more, during the hike.

Students set up their own tent camps and prepare backpacking style meals at each camp.

A HAT BBA Certification is earned when the student has completed the Indoor & Outdoor Practical Sessions and has passed the written exam given at the end of the outdoor session.
