
After the indoor session, students will experience realistic snow camping conditions during the outdoor practical session.

Students work on snow shelter contruction techniques that can be applied back at their unit.

The class tours all of the days snow shelters during the 'Street of Dreams' hike, comparing techniques and getting a critique from the builders allowing a comparison of many techniques and styles.

HAT Instructors demonstrate gear, both commercial and homemade.

Home made gear is encouraged. Plans are provided for a selection of gear.

The most interesting student made gear is recognized.

Students experience a starlight snowshoe hike.
