A Paddle Sports Awareness (PSA) Instructor goes over a rigged canoe at the start of the outdoor practical session.
More than canoes are covered during the course!
Many styles and types of gear and boats are reviewed.
Students participate in the same swim test they'll be conduting back at their unit.
Students practice basic skills on flat water before moving onto moving water on day 2 of the outdoor practical.
At the completion of the course students will have experience with the gear, paddling techniques and safety issues involved in getting thier unit onto the water!
