Hiking the Tri-Trek Trail

A GEC-HAT patch is available for these hikes.  Take a look at the "HAT Awards & Patches" link in the menu on the left of your screen.

In August 1972, Troop 29  blazed the original Tri-trek Trail connecting camps Marin Sierra, Phahatsi and Glacial Trails (now Robert Cole).  For a generation this has been a popular '50 Miler', though over the decades development and nature have encroached on sections of the trail.  A High Adventure Patch is available for hiking sections of the Tri-trek.

Download the Original 1972 Tri-trek Trail description (Adobe Acrobat PDF format, ~686KB).   This file was scanned from an older xerox copy of the original typed description and then compressed to meet the Council server's file size specs.  As a result, the maps are a bit fuzzy and difficult to read, but the written description is OK.

This web page will document the rededication of the Tri-trek Trail by volunteers from the Council's High Adventure Team and Grass Valley's Boy Scout Troop 4.  The adventure starts in June '07.  Stay tuned!
