Other High Adventure Awards

 

There are many ways to recognize your Scouts' participation on high adventure activities.  This is just a sampling of the high adventure awards that are available through our Council, the BSA High Adventure Bases, and other organizations. 

 

High Adventure Patch

 

recognize your high adventure Scouts!

 

Awarded at the Unit's discretion, this patch recognizes your Scouts and leaders that participate in high adventure activities.

 

This patch is available from the Council's Scout Shop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

50 Miler Award

 

Hike, bike, paddle, or ride 50 miles

 

This award is earned by hiking, cycling, paddling, or horse packing a minimum of 50 miles over at least 5 consecutive nights.  A service project is also required.  See the Scout handbook for additional information.

 

This award is available from the Council's Scout Shop.

 

 

 

 

Northern Tier High Adventure Base

The BSA's Northern Tier High Adventure Base has participation patches for each of its programs.  This example was earned by GEC Scouts on their trek to the Charles Sommers Base in Ely, MN.  Check out the Northern Tier web site for more patches and ordering details.

Triple Crown Award

 

NESA's Triple Crown Award

 

The Charles L. Sommers Alumni Association sponsors the Triple Crown Award.  This patch is earned by Scouts that attend all three BSA High Adventure Bases and then complete an application to Association.  Check out the Charles L. National Outdoor Achievement Awards

 

Natinal Outdoor Achievement Awards set

 

This multi-patch set recognizes a Scout that demonstrates knowledge and experience in hiking, aquatics, camping, horseback riding, and  high adventure activities.  The requirements are detailed on the BSA National web site.  This web page includes the award application form.

 

 

 

 

 

 

National Camping Awards

 

 

These awards recognize those Scouts that complete varying numbers of nights of camping (100, 250, 500, & 1,000).  These awards can be ordered through the Council's Scout Shop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BSA Aquatics Patches

These patches recognize skills demonstared in each of the respective activities.  The patches are available from the Council Scout Shop.  Note that SCUBA had been an aquatics patch until just recently when it was upgraded to a Merit Badge!
