Safe Swim Defense/Safety Afloat Online Training Module
The Boy Scouts of America requires that any aquatics activity be conducted in a safe manner. The first step in doing this is well trained leadership. If this is the first time you are taking this training, the Council Training Committee encourages you to attend an instructor led session to allow for discussion and questions.
About the Online training
It is recommended that Safe Swim Defense be completed prior to Safety Afloat. Each module takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete. You will need to supply your name and Council name (Golden Empire Council) and you will be tested at the end of each module.
Upon successful completion of the test you will be presented with a training card and either a “Safe Swim Defense Commitment “or a “Nine Points of the Safety Alfoat Program” certificate. Carry the cards with you when involved in aquatics activities.
