In our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and enriching environment for all campers and staff, we have decided to cancel the Camp Winton 2024 summer season in order to accommodate necessary repairs and enhancements. While we understand that the news of a closure may initially evoke mixed emotions, we want to assure you that this decision is rooted in GEC’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

During this period of closure, our team will be working diligently to enhance the infrastructure, update accommodations and improve recreational areas. The repairs will address various aspects of our facilities, ensuring that they meet and exceed industry standards. We see this as an opportunity to invest in the long-term sustainability of Camp Winton.

This DOES NOT MEAN Scouts BSA resident camp is going away! We are thrilled to announce that our 2024 Scouts BSA Camp will be held at Historic Camp Lassen, in celebration of the camp’s 90th Anniversary serving the BSA. While change can sometimes be unexpected, we see this as an incredible opportunity to elevate the camp experience for everyone.

We understand the deep connection that each of you feel toward Camp Winton, and we want to express our gratitude for your continued support and understanding during this time. Rest assured that we are committed to reopening as soon as the enhancements are complete, ready to welcome you back to and even better camp experience in 2025.
